2008. ~4.5" x 9".
A character design from my old Narrative Illustration class.
I'd combined the old Aesop fable of The Ant & The Grasshopper with Edgar Allen Poe's "The Masque of The Red Death"; featured 18th century anthropomorphic insects and stuff. The design research for this was a lot of fun.

I did a sit-in of this class the day you presented the "one day a giant ___ fell from the sky" assignment-- this was it, wasn't it? The red grasshopper falling in like red vengeance. I remember because it was the only remarkable one of the lot (to my highschool eyes), being rather more thought out and personalized. AND SO.
