So today on my way to work I was driving down a side street when someone in a white Ford expedition pulled out in front of me making a left turn. They had a stop sign, I did not. This was the result. I did not have good brakes to begin with, so a sudden stop was a non starter. We were planning to replace the car in the coming months anyway, but I guess now we just accelerated our time table.
Sadly I must say my cars rarely make it to an honorable retirement. My last few vehicles have all been taken out due to accidents, two of which I was at fault. This time it wasn't, but it doesn't make it any easier. I've already put in a claim with their insurance, and now it's just waiting, I think. I don't really know. I know they have to get their statement and do an inspection of my car, and I don't know what else. But in any event, this is why I have to juggle a lot of things around now on top of everything else.
SIGH.

According to your description, you've been through this sort of thing many times before. That's quite unfortunate, but it's miraculous how you come out of the ordeals practically unharmed. Lacking that mode of transportation's unfortunate, however, but in the end, it's better to lose your car than your life.
I hope you're able to obtain a new vehicle in the future, and you're able to fare better with it than your previous one.

I hope your doing okay possibly will be sore. I hope you had a dash cam to prove your case .I hate to say it I don't trust other drivers these days. I just went through this last month.
A driver failed to yield at a stop light at a intersection I had the clear alright of way the driver turned left right in front of me and totaled my grandmothers Buick. The other driver tried to say I was at fault and claimed injuries my dash cam footage turned the tables and caught the other driver in a lie to police and insurance.
If you don't have one I would say get one it will be beneficial

I did not. Though apparently they are pretty cheap these days so I will probably get one for my next vehicle. I am pretty sure the driver who was behind us backed up my story but the cop saw the stop sign which the white expedition had and I did not.
But yeah, for the new car I was eventually planning to get that's not a bad idea.

That's wise to do. I bought my grandmother the dash cam after we got hit by a riding lawnmower who was uninsured and he did 4 k in damage and 5 months after the camera was purchased and installed it saved my back from a bad driver. They will pay for them selves. And they take sd cards
Sadly yes with today's world you can't trust other Drivers.
With my wreck like I said before a mom with two kids failed to yield at a light I had the right of way she never slowed down i couldn't stop.

The van driver told everyone I was at fault even the cop and claimed injuries at the scene. Cop asked me my side of the story soon as I said my statement and mentioned dash came dash the cop cop didn't argue.
Both car insurances found the van driver at fault..
The link I posted was to my dash footage

Yeah, I can see from the footage you had a green light. That other driver definitely wasn't safe, if for no other reason than she couldn't see past the driver at the left lane. But you never have right of way turning left.
I checked out the video and my only comment is that the text went by a little fast, it'd definitely need about twice as much time to read it, I had to pause frequently.

*Hugs tight* I'm so sorry. I know it had to be pretty frightening, as well as aggravating. I just hope you're okay, and please get checked out if you haven't already. You can't be too careful with this kind of thing. And fingers crossed on the insurance and all that legal crap. I hope everything will work out okay for you!
I'm okay, the impact was fairly low speed. I was going 30 and slammed on my brakes, but the problem is that I just didn't have enough space to stop or a place to divert so physics....
But I'm hoping it is quick and clear since the cop and the other driver knew there was a stop sign where she was.

Thing is, though, it's falling apart and we had planned to replace it anyway. It went in earlier this year and needed a lot of work, so they said, so we did the bare minimum to get it road worthy and were hoping it would limp across the finish line. It did not. So now I have to figure something out until we can purchase its successor, which now must happen sooner than intended.
Oh I see that’s rough I had an accident around November myself it’s something you would might see in a bad comedy movie or show
Basically so parked so I could sneeze thought I finished but nope I restarted my car hit the gas and suddenly had three more sneezes and drove right into the parked car in front of me sadly I was 20 feet from arriving at home

That's exactly what happened with my accident. I was planning on dealing off the car once I got back from a fur con in Michigan. Got into an accident on the Interstate and used the insurance pay plus the other money I'd saved for a new car to upgrade to one I couldn't have afforded otherwise. I used the insurance as bonus money not the whole thing.

It does and you can feel not quite right until it is behind you.
Now, I have heard others say that they feel nervous driving in the area where the accident happened. It's natural. I found it helped to remind myself of how many times I drove through the spot where nothing happened.

Depends on the damage to the vehicle. Especially for bent axles or severely damaged undrivable cars. If there a lot of flatbeds in the area, that normally means the types of accidents in that area requires the use of lots of flatbeds. But it is normally better for a car to be on a flatbed than being towed. Prevents more damage to a car.
Oh no! Just saw this. Sorry to hear. Now that 2 weeks have passed, hope things are settling somewhat and you're able to find another form of transportation. I am certainly glad you're still with us!
The drivers around here where I live are getting worse, I've noticed. Red light runners, and stop sign runners, just coasting right on through. Didn't used to see that much, now I see it almost every day. And lots of speeding. Not really that safe anymore, and I really don't care to drive anymore, though I must to get around.
