This is an illustration I did last year for the soon to be released World Guide for the Shard RPG. Paksin refers not to owls but to any of the Avian peoples within the role-playing game's universe. You can play an anthropomorphic version of pretty much any bird species in the Shard RPG. This illustration to help explain the biomechanics of paksin arm-wings.
Want to play a sparrow who bakes bread for a living? No problem. Want to be a singing, dancing peacock? No problem. Want to be a pair of great tits? You can do that too. Hummingbird kickboxer? Yup. Chicken calligrapher? Sure can! Crow perfumer, Lyrebird diplomat, bird-of-paradise prince, seagull sailor, penguin archer, and just about anything. There are so many professions in this game. If it fits a medieval, eastern world it's an occupation in this game system.
Oh yeah, there's also dozens and dozens of mammals, reptiles and amphibian anthros you can play in the game.
