This is a very simple recipe for some extremely tasty christmas cookies which have their origins in swabia, germany.
the dough will give you enough material for about 50 cookies!
you will need:
dough:
-500g of grounded sweet almonds
-300g of powdered sugar
-2 teaspoons of cinnamon
-2 eggs (the eggwhites only)
-2 regular spoons of amaretto (an almond flavored liqueur)
for the frosting:
-1 egg (eggwhite only)
-125g of powdered sugar
put the grounded almonds, 300g of powdered sugar and the cinnamon into a big bowl and mix everything.
now you add the eggwhites of 2 eggs and the 2 spoons of amaretto (or any other almond flavored liqueur).
mix everything until you have a fine dough.
roll out the dough until its about 1cm thick.
for the frosting you beat the eggwhite of the third egg until its stiff. slowly add the powdered sugar while you do that.
cover the cookies with the frosting and put them in the preheated oven at 150°C/302°F for 15 minutes.
done! enjoy^^
one little hint though: make the cookies now but put them away until christmas! they will taste even more amazing then!
