It's all right, mate. Both in terms of page release and narrative. The drawing is even similar to that of the original story, and that can be interpreted as an homage to the original. And this page is very important, as you can see that our mate Louis is a bit confused and doesn't know what to do. So everything is in its place. And good luck with the next pages.

Deer-Baby misses his Lion-Daddy! But don't worry, I'm not upset. If anything, the other commenters are right, this does help set the mood! Plus, it confirms that in this timeline... Ibuki is dead... and Louis is still in mourning... which does help explain (or at least gives one of several reasons) why he's so hesitant to be happy with Legosi.
And don't sweat it with only making a one-page-update! As long as you're able to update at all, that's more important! I hope all is going as well as can be in your day-to-day life, in any event.
But I *love* your drawings of Free and Agata!!! <3 <3 <3 They both look awesome (and cute/handsome, lol) in your style!!! It's adorable that Free is using a heart emoji! Somehow... that's oddly perfect for him. XD
Also, Louis' eyes in the first panel are just beautiful. Love those great big eyes of his, and I love the little detail of his left cheek being scrunched up against the pillow. x3

Glad to hear, and yeah it's one of the reasons for his feelings. Hahaha yeah I really liked drawing the two here, Free is a big hugger and seems to love Louis the most next to Ibuki of the Shishigumi, so the heart fits for sure xD I really like him being a lil out there but affectionate.

Haha, yeah, Free is one of the more fun characters from the original story. The fact that he takes over from Ibuki to be Louis' protector is just so gosh darn sweet, especially since Free is the craziest-looking of the lion-daddies! xD I just love how unabashedly affectionate he is with the deer. x3
