This really feels like some Studio Trigger stuff, like Kill la Kill's bits where all the student mooks kinda get exploded all over the place. I dunno if you like that show or not, I know some folks don't. XD

Oh I can't deny there's a bit of that influence here. Oh! I can actually point to a specific panel. The final panel of page 22 with Toma being drawn HUGE is definitely something I've been influenced by anime on, with size difference being used for mood of the moment and not to scale.
Now that I think about it, so far everything has been squishy and there's been splatting, but nobody has had any long-term harm come to them, right? How do they settle conflicts? Can anybody there get really hurt? Toma had a lot of ink leak out, before, but I'm not sure if that's normally a thing or not. The Book Rats don't seem to be in any danger, despite getting knocked all over the place.
