D&D is one of those games where world is limited only by imagination, tools and willingness to explore and experiment from DM or the players. Both sides important for flow of story
Cool ideas like these, which are based on trust between DM and a player not to break entire campaign are signs of respect and friendship. While DMing I love such things, silly NPCs, items, story and clever ideas.
Your bobold design is lovely, everything flows nicely together and fits into places. Vagelio did wonderful job as you did on making character alive.
