Sinterklaas is arriving in the Netherlands in an hour! WEEEEEE!
This is my favorite holiday of the year by far. Kiki's waiting at the waterside to welcome Sinterklaas and all the Zwarte Pieten! She made herself a shoe just for the occasion and already put it at the fireplace with a carrot in it for Amerigo. Which will hopefully be replaced with a lot of pepernoten! :D

Heh. Sinterklaas was altijd geweldig als kind natuurlijk... Toch, we vieren het niet meer en ik kan niet zeggen dat ik het mis. Kerstmis voor mij ^^ Wel zonder al die Amerikaanse poespas uiteraard.
Blijft gezellig wanneer de goedheiligman bij ons dorp aankomt natuurlijk, toch altijd feest.

So do the Dutch celebrate this instead of Christmas? Or is December a time for 2 lots of presents and larger dinners?!

We celebrate Christmas as well. However, only the spoiled kids get presents twice, Santa Claus is gaining popularity here. For me personally Christmas has nothing to do with presents whatsoever, that's Sinterklaas, where only kids get presents by the way. No more presents for me, boo hoo
