I hadn't planned to release this at quite such an appropriate time, but... here it is! This is another scene featuring a fan of IZ who wrote to ask if he could be in it - this time it's
anthfurnee's meerkat Anthony.
My project to allow me to write a collection of very short scenes has, of course, quickly resulted in this four-thousand word one - most of that is the explanation and playing of the game, but I liked the idea when it came to me as it tied in with what I'd been told about the character. Having to add things about the game even outside the story is probably an admittance of failure at getting it to work when being told on its own, but my notes for the layout of the "board" went:
[Start] |>3| | |Q2| | |<2|Q3| |SL| |C1|<3|Q2|Q3|<1|Q4|>3|C2|>1|
Even though I struggled with some of their dialogue here, I've found myself really liking the presenters of the Saturday morning show around this, Jayce and Kass. I think some day I may have to gunge them.

If you do get the cat and squirrel presenters? My vote is get them both at the same time. xD
Can you imagine them competing against each other, one losing and getting covered... and then a surprise is sprung on the other? Haha. ^^
Awesome story here too. I always enjoy seeing more from IZ. ^^

The cat and squirrel presenters clearly needs to be the season finale, based on around 75% of British shows I recall.
An enjoyable read, anyway, and I can't help but wonder if you planned the result or were using a d4 seeing as you noted the entire layout of the board. Out of curiosity, would the <3 that lands on SL have counted as landing on the star seeing as the other questions/move forwards/backwards didn't count?

I would have been generous and given him that! The added bonus for viewers/the writer would have helped with that decision as well, obviously ;) I was sort of glad I didn't have to think up the star prize, though, seeing as I'd already stretched the limits of my imagination in the usual exercise in futility of coming up with the questions.
I laid out the board and went to random.org and sketched the result and commentary of the first 1-4 selection of numbers that came up as they went along (including using it for deciding whether the questions were answered correctly or not). When I have games that rely on some random chance like this I often do that for multiple runs or edit them a bit to make the result more favorable/balanced, but to my memory this one needed no editing or retrying at all!
