A little less than a month has passed ... Maybe three weeks. The Orden built a new fortress near the place where Brin'ya and I lived.
They started recruiting volunteers again. But there was one problem with them. More precisely, with what they came out of there. I remember how volunteers were trained, ordinary visitors made excellent warriors. And now volunteers were made into fanatics. Only light is on his mind, and that all who are faithful to him are their friends. The rest can be viewed with contempt. Fanatics who from the very beginning were alien to what the teachings of light lead to. Compassion and remorse. These, according to rumors, killed all the objectionable for the glory of who knows what, but definitely not the light.
I am a simple guy. As long as it doesn't concern me, I don't interfere in business. But, as I expected, no one will let me sit away from all this.
Knock on the door. Koresta came to us in the middle of the night. I carefully got out of bed so as not to wake the Brin'ya. And went to the door.
Opening the door, I saw Koresta in new armor. I already wanted to ask what brought her to me at night, but...
Koresta : Follow me. I need you.
Me : why? *Yawn*
Koresta : Don't ask too many questions!
She grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the horse.
Koresta : Get on your horse and follow me.
Me : What's going on, where are you taking me?
Koresta : I alleady said, don't ask too many questions!
Realizing that the girl was serious, I was forced to obey. We drove to the north of the Eastern Kingdoms. Approximately in that direction was Fozgorod.
It was unpleasant to realize this, but we went there. We drove pretty fast, literally in a couple of hours we got to the gates of the city, but we drove past the gates.
As we drove further, I realized where we were going. We drove to Kerrista's house, but Coresta told me that there was nothing left of him. As it turned out later, she did not tell everything. Upon arrival, the house was intact, relatively... There was no door, inside the house there was a mess, chaos, call it what you want. Scattered books, in some places the roots of a nightmare sprouted. And outside the house, there were spikes on which were impaled, skulls, body parts, sometimes even whole bodies. The forest is still red. Blood red. We didn't meet anyone along the way though. No enemies, no friends. Just me and Koresta.
Koresta entered the houses, I followed her.
Koresta : This is where everything happened.
Me : What happened?
Koresta : My fight, with Kerrista, which I then won, but with great difficulty.
Koresta looked around.
Koresta : Look at this place. Is this how you want to see the whole world?
Me : What? What are you talking about?
Koresta : I am talking about you. I know that you met in Kerrista, how else would she know that you wanted the blacksmiths to forge you katana?
Me : I don't remember telling her about it.
Koresta looked at me, obvious anger and hatred could be seen on her face.
Koresta : You don't even deny it. Tell me honestly, did you planned all of this?
Me : Who "you" and "planned" what?
Koresta : Attack on the fortress. To the fortress you left the day before she attack.
Me : I...
Koresta : Hundreds of innocent lives she took. She wouldn't have done it if YOU WAS THERE!
Me : Wai...
Koresta : MANY DESTROYED DESTINIES, AND ALL ONLY BECAUSE YOU ARE GONE! DO YOU WANT THIS? YOU WANTED! YOU AND KERRISTA!
Me : Wa... wait!
Koresta : TRAITOR! EVERYTHING AS BETHANY SAID! WE TREATED YOU NORMALLY, EVEN FORGED THE WEAPON! BUT NO!
Me : SHUT UP ALREADY!
Koresta was a little shocked by such audacity on my part. Surprisingly, she fell silent.
Me : What have you become? Crazy fanatic! You and all your filthy order! How do you even connect these two events? My departure, and Kerrista's attack. Didn't you think that I foresaw this? And let me ask you another question.
Me : If I had stayed, and if I had died there. Who would you blame now?
Me : The light didn't help you then! Because you don't have to believe in some unknown force! Only in your own strength, and when you say that "Without you, we might not be able to cope" this is an occasion to ask for help from someone other than me. Don't you think?
Koresta : You will regret what you said about my orden.
Koresta materialized a hammer of light in her right hand.
Koresta : This "Unknown Force" will now erase you into dust, is there anything to say before you die?
Me : Are you going to kill me now? Do it. Kill me. Come on, I don't have anything to tell you. I hope that you also kill your entire order! In search of traitors, enemies, it doesn't matter!
Koresta : I hope your little soul burns in hell.
Koresta swung, I closed my eyes, acknowledging the fact that death is better than fighting these fanatics. But death seems to have bypassed me that night. I am very lucky. After all, for the second time I survive in situations where I should not have. So what happened.
After a couple of seconds, I realized that either they had already killed me, or Coresta did not beat me at all. I opened my eyes and saw the room. Our room. In which Brin'ya and Bethany read some kind of runic spell.
Me : Um... ladies, I'm here. What are you doing here?
Bethani : Oh Brin'ya look. We did it.
Brin'ya : Ah, thank the light. I thought that fanatic killed you.
Me : Wait wait. Girls, what's going on? Am I already dead? Or?
Bethani : Fortunately for us, you are alive. We pulled you out at the last moment. I can only imagine how Koresta is furious now.
Bethani : By the way. Here is your hammer. And yes, dress up please.
Me : Thank you. But the way you lifted it, even Koresta couldn't lift it.
Bethani : Well, my intentions are pure, and so are yours, Brin'ya brought me this hammer.
Brin'ya : He's so light. Koresta really couldn't lift him?
Me : No.
Bethani : People! We don't have time to talk now! I'm sure Enzis is up to date and...
Enzis : Yes. I've been here for a long time.
Enzis stood at the entrance, blocking our exit.
Enzis : You won't go anywhere from here. Consider that I have locked you here.
Me : You? Dude, how can I hit you? Immediately on the head, or maybe on the body?
Enzis : You are so presumptuous. I'm sorry, but I foresaw such an outcome of events.
Roots sprouted from the ground that entwined Bethany and Brin'ya.
Enzis : And with you, I'll deal with it personally.
From his magic, Enzies materialized heavy armor and a shield with a sword.
Without further ado, he immediately attacked me. I managed to block his lunge with the hilt. He rested his sword against her with a clear desire to break the handle of the hammer. As he put pressure on the handle of my hammer he said :
Enzis : It won't be hard to win. You're an autodidact who can't even swing a weapon. *pushed* What's more, you haven't been trained. What kind of self-taught adventurer, who has not even seen world evil in person?
Me : Huuuh! *pushed back* You see... just because I'm self-taught doesn't mean I'm WEAK! And the evil of the world... I see right now.
Enzis : Come on, asshole! Show me what you're capable of!
In my head, I quickly scrolled through the battle scenario. I loosened my grip so that the hammer touched the ground, I myself had to dodge to the side, literally take a step. Then just sharply raise the hammer to its blunt head. Enzies leans on the hilt with all his weight, my movements can just knock him off his feet. So... i did it.
I loosened my grip, my hammer only pommel touched the wooden floor. Enzis didn't expect my grip to loosen abruptly and backed forward, I took a step to the side causing him to walk past me. I jerked the hammer and knocked him off his feet. Unexpected to such actions, he lay on his back and tried to hide behind a shield. However, I have already swung over his body. With a loud blow, I dented some of his armor, and it seems that I damaged some internal organs.
Me : That's what I didn't miss on training, motherfucker!
As Enzis lies on a wooden floor and coughed up blood, I unraveled the roots that surrounded the girls.
Bethani : Thank's!
Brin'ya : Oh. Fuck! Did you beat him like that?
Me : Yes it's me. Let's leave before he can get up.
We quickly gathered everything we needed and left the house. Bethany wanted to heal the poor fellow, but I quickly helped her push the idea out of her head. From large cities, there was nothing around us. I suggested Kul Tiras as an option. The girls agreed with that.
We set sail on the first ship out of Stormwind. In Kul Tiras, we found a tavern far from the port. It was safer that way.
Apparently, the girls and I had to stop not only Kerrista, but also the crazy Orden of the Holy Paw. But in three, we are unlikely to succeed. But we will try...
