Cute Vulpera. Personally my WoW gameplay during Shadowlands has been mainly doing old content so my item level was AWFUL. Something like 260. All you need to do to improve gear is just run dungeons or raids. Generally the raid finder system is what I went for, as I also am not social enough to find a group for higher difficulties. Otherwise you could quest for gear.
Either way, the heritage set ain't bad! I would suggest messing around with the old Legion expansion, as the various sets in there are alright looking. BFA's areas like Zuldazar and Kul Tiras have a lot of pirate-themed sets for rogue which might be cute, though most people do pirate Vulpera. Honestly just open up your adventurer guide and look into the various old dungeons from classic to Legion, as those you can easily solo with a level 60 character. Find some items you like the look of!

I have to confess that I play a lot of WoD since it has Garrisons haha. After I got The Stable Masters for an Alliance Wolf Mount, I find that Dreanor's not really fun past Frostfire Ridge. I guess I also capped at 50 since I didn't get Shadowlands. But hey, I do enjoy plowing through old contents. It's pretty fun to accidentally drop Fan of Knives and clear rooms.
With a 50 cap you can also go back to Cataclysm, Wrath of the Lich King, so on. Some great dungeons and raids. It is fun to oneshot everything, yes. There is a legacy mechanic in place that boosts your damage output when against enemies that are 10 levels or more lower than you. Though that doesn't quite apply to BFA areas without an appropriate item level. Still, you should have access to a lot of fun stuff!
I love the vulpera as well. I play a hunter myself. I don't have teh expac either but the thing is, i don't play enough to justify getting the expac + 21CAD a month. And with nobody to paly with, and not being social enough to hang in guilds much, it gets difficult to justify it even more. So I play private servers instead. Free and they have enough custom cointent that it gets refreshing.
Though, lately i'Ve been on a shooter binge, playing fortnite and halo infinite with friends.
If anyone manages to give me enough of a reason to play and pay for it, then by all means.
