Just before we got Covid a couple of weeks ago while thinking about a gift for someone, we found this online sweet shop. One thing they have which I always liked as a kid are the stringy and chewy sort of sweets. And a cool thing the shop does is that they let you use a custom sticker design on the bulk versions of some products. So I muddled around and came up with this idea for a machine that minces hard sweets and makes chewy cables out of them. I think this took a couple of hours, I originally imagined it more science-y, so not quite as I imagined it, but good enough.
I made a few different versions and couldn't decide on which to post, because my mate was more keen on a green and red theme to match the cable sweets we both like, rather than the blue and red, which I picked more just because I'm in a flag colours mood at the moment. :P Incidentally, blue, red and white are flag colours for many countries, but so is green. My country's flag was white and blue in ages past and has evolved until most recently to be green and red, with yellow accents.

Actually, you had it right the other way round! The sweets are called pencils. Not seen them before? Google image search results.
Though it is amusing to think that some pencil sharpeners do look pretty close to some mincing machine attachments.

Honestly maybe I jumped to conclusions, I was judging mainly by the amount of .co.uk domains I found searching for it and the fact that I am unfamiliar. I wouldn't be surprised if it was here in California, but in any case I don't think I've ever seen that in a vending machine or anywhere. (And it's not like I go into a candy store more than once every 4 years or so.)
