Last year, had some hoarfrost and fog so I wandered out to take some pics.

The gray mare can hear me and can't see me as shes mostly blind, so is always scanning. I managed to grab some head tilt crunching in the snow. Her buddy "Bud" is mostly deaf but can see okay. They're both over 30 and use each other to navigate the pasture.

The other two horses are more aggressive so they're separated from the oldsters. Both have their fair share of health issues as well. It's not often they end up in the same picture. Each pair has around 4 acres to graze but in the winter they don't wander too far from the hay.

My grandad had up to thirty horses on his place at one time. These are the last of them.
