As promised (earlier today), here is my second baseball-related 'photo-op'...

One month after meeting Hall of Famer Gary Carter at the sports collectibles shop in Coral Springs, FL, I'd met another Met! This time, it was legendary pitcher Dwight Gooden (a.k.a. Dr. K, a.k.a. Doc Gooden)! His career with the New York Mets lasted from 1984 to 1994 - including the year the Major League Baseball team won the 1986 World Series (over the Boston Red Sox).

Once again, my brother Glenn drove us to the shop, where he bought another baseball - to be autographed by Gooden. Afterward, I took a picture of the two of them with the same disposable camera I'd used back in May. But this time, I had someone else handle my camera (besides Glenn) in taking a picture of me with Dr. K. (Notice the lack of thumb, covering yours truly, in said pic!)

As you can see in this photo, I recently had a haircut. It was not intended to mock Gooden's own hairstyle (or lack of it); it was just coincidental.

In October, 2010, Glenn and I returned to the same sports collectibles shop to meet one more classic Mets star: Darryl Strawberry. However, I was unable to get my picture taken with him, so this 'photo-op' was a missed opportunity.
