Out of my whole radio collection, this is my favorite. It's an Emerson Vanguard 888 made in 1958. Way back in 1980 my dad took me to my first Amateur Radio swap meet.
Spotted this radio in the back of a pickup truck mixed in with a lot of electronic scrap. Asked the guy how much he wanted for it. He said it was free! Was surprised, and thanked him for it. First time getting something for free. This radio sparked my love of vintage radios, and have cherished this one ever since.

Some original parts are in front of the radio. Just did a tuneup on it with new parts.
