Oookay... Now to create textures and add fine detail in Zbrush.
A bloody pain to unwrap UVs

But its worth it ^^

if you split up the UV maps at intervals you could get workable chunks of map out of it instead of one big "FLAP" :B

Well.. you can specify any size. For this an 8k UV map should be fine. I'm trying to avoid seams wherever possible.

Okay so basic colors maps, then variation, spots,markings. etc.

Cut maps, density and length maps....

dont forget some good normal or "bump" maps to add that lil' extra texture! :D

oh you bet ^^ one of the reasons why I'm using displacement maps instead of bump.

^^ well bump is great to give the impression of depth, however displacement map physically alters the topology of the mesh during rendering. Lookup MudBox and ZBrush.

ohhhh i gotcha, ive been using Zbrush for adding texture to meshes in Maya for the past 2 weeks now :3

^^ cool.. Well I mainly create a psd network texture, have Photoshop and Maya running side by side. Another computer runs mudbox and is linked via network to the project root dir

I really like your design for the head, and the body looks beautiful and smooth. Are you going to be using this on SL's beta grid by chance?

*Bows* Thank you ^^ Hmm not sure about sl... could import it though, however we will have to see what rigs they support if its going to be anything more than a statue XD
Anyhow UV maps done exporting a 12k by 12k psd map set. MY computers will love me for that :/
