「ビル？準備できた？」
ボクは首を振ります。「ア、いいえ。なにをようにねがいたいがわかりません。ローズ、どうねがいましたか？」
ローズはやさしい笑います。「ヘヘ、こっち来て見る！」
彼女の隣に歩み寄ります。ローズの紙に4漢字がありますが、わかりません。「あのう。。。エヘ、なにをかきましたか？」
「昼想夜夢。ちゅう、そう、や、む。」
ゆっくり話します。「ちゅうそうやむですか？どういういみですか？」
「ア。。。ン。。。」ローズは答えません。かえって、思うことを始めります。
今、ボクはちょっと笑います。届いて、ローズの手を繋ぎます。
"Heh, is it a little over my head?" I asked, feeling my tail twitch as a gust of wind swept over my yukata.
"Mm, sort of." Rose nodded in response, her voice shifting from Johtonese to her usual Galarian accent. She turned towards the bamboo, then gently slipped her paper-slip onto an open spot, holding it just taut enough that we could still read it. "It means 'daydreaming and nightdreaming'."
"Huh." I furrowed my brows slightly, looking up and down at the unfamiliar kanji. After a moment, I glanced back to Rose and squeezed her hand. "So what does *that* mean?"
The Ninetales gave me a warm, slightly-bashful smile in return, her ruby red eyes glinting almost as much as her flowery barrette. "I'll explain it to you later, but it means I love you."
I felt my heart swell within my chest, and as we both leaned in for a kiss, a series of firecrackers lit up the night sky.

This actually included a little extra sketch explaining exactly what "daydreaming and nightdreaming" means - to paraphrase a little, it essentially means "I love my partner so much that I think about them during the day and dream about them at night". I'd never heard of the phrase before (it's not exactly something that would have ever come up in classes, of course :U ), but it's so utterly sappy and romantic that I kind of love it, hahahah.

That aside, this comm mostly stems from me wanting to lean a bit more into Rose having grown up in Johto and all that. I’ve written her likes and preferences for things (food, nature, etc) with a similar influence, but with how much the team’s stories are focused on Alola, I haven’t really done all that much with the Johto aspect of her. So I figured this would be a fun way to dip into that!

(…plus she and I both look super-cute in the yukatas, I think :U )
