Hey! Yet another swimsuit artwork of Reptile! And this time he wears swimming shorts instead of speedo, but that's okay. The most interesting thing I noticed is how you tried to make his skin on the right hand more realistic. It actually has wrinkles in the joint point of his biceps. Such a sweet little detail! And of course I can't miss vascular details and anatomy overall. I just love muscular lizards, I can't help it! x3

Reppy's looking quite handsome and sexy as usual! :D So playful and cheeky. He's sexy and he knows it! Plus I love his big glistening muscles... normally I'm not a fain of veiny muscles, but somehow, you make Reppy's look *good*! :D

And I'm sure he'll make an excellent lifeguard... when he's actually paying attention to his surroundings and not posing for the camera. ;D

In the meantime, I shall have to speak to his boss about a new "uniform". ROFL!

Yeah, no speedo this time... I know you're a speedo lover (so am I) but most lifeguards have trunks in their stock.

And this time it was fun to play with the wrinkles of the trunks... and it's all wet and folded... you can let your hand glide over the wrinkles and play with it... it leaves a lot for the imagination.

About the veins... yeah, I don't like extreme vascular details either BUT I try to add at least the important veins.

Also... yeah, the camera... LOL, he is a show off, indeed!!!!

Sure, he will return to the speedos next time... but that's something refreshing, eh?

Yes, true, true... but still, there are lifeguards who wear speedos, and there is such a thing as "artistic license." But oh well, if you want your character to wear trunks, then go ahead! It's your pic, after all. Lol, I'm actually working on my own story where *every* dude wears speedos (fortunately, they all have bodies that are worth wearing it ).

Glad you enjoyed working on the trunks, though! Yeah, it can be fun to work with the dynamics of long draping clothing. :D ...Although I'd argue that a speedo offers *plenty* for the imagination. ;D

I think you strike the proper balance where the veins are concerned! :D They aren't overpowering or obscene, so they're quite nice to look at. x3

GOOD! Heh heh, I'm not sure I'd use the word "refreshing," but I will admit the trunks were a nice change of pace. Reppy looks good in just about anything, really. ;3

But I would like to do this:

*magically creates a giant walk-in closet for Reppy, filled with nothing but briefs and speedos, all a different color, pattern and style, yet all perfectly fitted to him*

"Here you are, Reppy! Your new wardrobe! On this side, you will find briefs, which are intended for indoor-wear. And on the other side, you will find speedos for when you wish to go outdoors. You will also notice that this particular line has several lifeguard-speedos for your job."

The thing is though I do like his speedos I wanted (!!!) some variety. ^^ A little change.
And in my mind, the red trunks are more typical for lifeguards. OK, that might not be the case for all around the world... but that's what came to MY mind.

One exception I can think of is the gargoyle form of Raven, who looked like he wore *nothing* under his loincloth. ;D

Reptile stared waywardly over the hanging sunset, the golden rays of the evening light were illuminating the water around him in an orange glow. However, the beauty of the Patagonian dusky twilight had nothing on the anatomical perfection that was Reptile's monstrously chiseled body. With leg muscles so massive they looked carved out of wood, he laid back and enjoyed the final few moments of the afternoon.

Using his sculptured abdominals, that broadcasted such vertical symmetry they looked like something out of an architect's rendering, Reptile hoisted himself slightly off the ground. He began to think of those less fortunate, who could not be around to enjoy such a gorgeous vista. And also for those who could not see the sun fall below the horizon. Hah, the 'vista' was his BODY, after all!

Reptile held the back of his head with his powerful hand, supported by a gigantic bicep that seemed ready to burst out of his skin at any moment. He idly thought to himself:

"For anyone who admires mouth-watering, jaw dropping muscular physiques, for anyone who wishes to see the final vespers of the early nightfall..."

He tilted his head towards the camera.

"...I'll be there."

He stuck out his tongue, and relished in the happiness and self-satisfaction of the moment. Life was good. His body was every bit a force of nature as the mighty yellow star, burning with a nuclear sustenance.

And your chiseled body-building romancer of a center-fold magazine model Reptile is very likely the oldest, continuously drawn furry character that lives on FurAffinity. Seriously, I can't name one other well known furry legend or mascot that is still actively drawn and updated since being first created back in the 1990's, please correct me if I'm wrong, but you have already obtained the status of having the oldest recognizable character, even if you might not yet be the oldest living artist.

Yes, every artist undergoes a personal art evolution that increases their skill with practice as time goes on. Imagine what Reptile might look like, drawn by your hand, in 40 years time, with all the experience you would have gained in 4 decades. And that's on TOP of the mountain of your current abilities! As well as all the updates in artwork software that will unlock new and incredible possibilities. Now THAT'S something to dream about!

Well, I don't think that "Reptile" is the oldest character and not even the most frequently drawn character... but I'm pleased that you think so. And to be honest... I'm sure that he's ranking at least in the upper 100 characters........ *grins*
OK, we must not count official stuff like POKEMON etc., I know you're talking about "OCs" here, right? Well... when it comes to original characters... yeah, he belongs to a well-known group of guys. ^^
I suppose that characters like "Chrome" or "Dragoneer" were pretty big a few years ago... I dunno how often those guys get drawn these days.

I know that Zen's character Joshua has been around for a long time, at least the late 1990's or early 2000's. I don't have the exact information or research in front of me at the moment to confirm, but Joshua would be a strong contender for the title of Oldest Continuously Drawn Original Character. But then again, so does Reptile. 1996 is a pretty damn long time ago in the furry community, and according to the furry documentary The Fandom, the first conventions weren't held until roughly the late 1980's, so 1996 isn't that far away. Hell, 1996 is the first year high speed cable internet came out in most areas, since it's the first year that DOCSIS 1 specification was released.

But, I think it's pleasing to imagine Reptile in the upper echelons of reputation and statecraft, as an ambassador to the furry art world, along with a few other privileged elite characters.

Keep in mind that Reptile's beauty as a visual manifestation is just as commendable as his historical lineage. It's both of these aspects together that make him a real monster powerhouse, which is why so few other characters can compete with him...

Like I said in another life, Reptile is S+ tier. It doesn't get any better than that.

I gotta say those trunks look spectacular on him, I like speedos too but there's something so fun about trunks. The way I see it, speedos are tighter and more for looks, but trunks are more loose (and easy to lose :3)
I'd give anything to spend time with Reppy like this. And put that teasing tongue of his to good use (I'm fine with whatever place he chooses to use it!) I know I want to use mine to taste his ripped abs and pecs... <333
