As long term subordinates underneath the usually metaphorical eye of Tharquench Sizestealer, Akriven and Dawmik were no strangers to his specific brand of enforcement. While as ruthless and as brutal as any other skaven leader, Tharquench relied heavily upon humiliation and physical size as a means to deal with both his enemies and underlings he considered too unpredictable. Akriven and Dawmik both fit this category: while undeniably subservient, both of them displayed enough intelligence and dominance in their own right that they remained a consistent problem for their warlord, a fact that he could no longer ignore.
With Akriven and Dawmik looking up from their work only to be greeted with a familiar green glow, the two of them rapidly diminished from the status of a normal skaven. The grey seer had simply become too rebellious for Tharquench to ignore, and with Dawmik seeming intent to aide him with his plans, there was nothing left to do but to remind them of their place. Wracked by quick bursts of size reduction, the two smaller rats were yanked closer and closer to the wooden floor boards. They could only attempt to flee for a couple seconds before they were simply too small to have much of a chance in escaping an ant, much less the warlord that now loomed over them like the divine. Heavy footfalls marked the end of their shrinking, Tharquench's paws coming to a stop just a couple centimeters before their pathetically tiny bodies.
Akriven and Dawmik both stared at each other breathlessly as their superior's body occupied much of their miniscule horizon. Tharquench was an efficient warlord - the fact that he had not simply erased them underfoot with one swift movement meant that he at least valued their continued existence, but signified that their torment had really only just begun. Simply bending over produced air displacements that pushed Dawmik and Akriven flat to the floor. Tharquench made one quick swift movement, scrapping the two tiny rats off the floor and onto the end of his monumentally large finger claws.
Their punishment had only just begun.
This is a piece I got with
Lux-leo's Grey Seer Akriven Venomfang as my partner in crime and
DylanStrategie's Tharquench as the overwhelmingly superior rodent of unusual size.
dsc85 was kind enough to spare a stream slot for us from the ever-illustrious, always-delivering
Nommz, and I couldn't be happier with the result.
The character in this piece is still my male sona - now called 'Dawmik,' a character who exists canonically (often, literally) underneath
DylanStrategie's wonderful rodent.
There's a sequel to this, which should be up soon. As always, comments are welcome and appreciated.
