Dec 10, 2042- Day 81
Figured that it would be a good idea to do a comparison image from one of what she used to look like and what she currently looks like. I could have given her something to stand on but she wanted to do it herself, probably a matter of pride or something. But she was most definitely surprised by how little height she actually lost. But that’s one of the things most people don’t realize, the spine of many quadrupedal animals aren’t that much shorter than a human’s, they’re just horizontal.
Also decided to go about talking with her about the future past the time she’s done changing. She definitely has no interest in trying to live in the wild and I’m in agreement with that. Especially with it being winter the odds of her learning all of the skills she’d need to survive are almost impossible. If she changes her mind for next year, then that’ll be her choice. I do know that it’s kind of strange her hair hasn’t fallen out yet. Felix had lost all his human hair by now, but I’m guessing that’ll probably fall out when she molts in the next summer.
We also had a long discussion of what to do with her entries. She may or may not be able to read all that clearly later on; foxes aren’t all that well known for having great eyesight. And she may or may not really want any reminder of who she was and what she lost. She suggested we donate it to a museum or something. Which is certainly doable. I’d probably keep a copy just in case she decides she’s feeling nostalgic.
