I think this is the last song recorded in August with my old cover band. We only got the second set due to software problems. I uploaded the best ones. This isn't too bad. It a cover of "5446" by Toots And The Maytals into "Ball And Chain" I believe is an original by Sublime. Sublime combined the two songs as a 1992 release.
The band: Donny (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), Chris (vocals and acoustic guitar), ME (drums/percussion), Matt (Bass, lead and backing vocals), Neil (lead guitar). Neil also recorded and mixed all the songs from this show.
"5446" is copyright Toots And The Maytals 1968 - 1969.
"Ball And Chain" is copyright Sublime 1992.

We never had a horn section. For the most part, the original band was just a 3 piece. Me, Matt and Chris. At the time we were called R.P.M. Those were our last name initials. We found it funny and said that we were destined to be a band based on the coincidence. Rossi, Pompei and Mason. We became THE cover band in the tri-state area. RI, MA and CT. You can add NH into that as well. >"^_^"<
The shows were a crap shoot. *lol* I honestly don't understand why anyone came out to see us. Usually the first set was okay. Chris was very 'untamed'. He would add lib, lose his place and just stand there like a deer in headlights while the rest of us would try and give him some kind of pick up spot so he could slip back into the song. As the night went on, Neil, (lead guitar), would have a beer, then another beer, then two more beers, then a few more beers. I think you get the picture. Matt and I were the only ones keeping it together. Well, when we added Donny on rhythm guitar for a few shows, he helped a little. But seriously, we were NOT a good band. The funniest thing is, we were the most popular band at the time. We got paid a lot for money for gigs. We'd average anywhere between $650 - $2,600 a night. I could have quit my day job and lived off of what I was making in that band. That is if we played one show every week.
Haha. I don't know what your talking about?! That sounds like it'd be one hell of a funny show. Sometimes it's good not to take things so sirius. And the fact that ur drums and bass where so tight gives them a ton of freedom to suck it up and ppl will still love it. GO RHYTHM!!!
Very very awesome! It's hard for me to dig a lot of sublime covers because not many people can capture the swagger that Bradly had. However, you my friend, have done a fine job with you old band! While it's true that this style of song could have benefitted from a horns section, that isn't to say that your band didn't sound entirely whole while playing this. A very good cover!
