Not exactly a secret I've been DMing a preliminary campaign called Curse of Captain Sorhogg for a group called the Dragon Dames over the past year. They are three sessions away from finishing it all, and I just wanted - as I've already shown off various player and NPC portraits I had drawn for it - the map handout in all its glorious detail.
I felt it was a little overworked, but for something that unfolds very slowly week by week you get used to the areas already explored so the final pieces is far less jarring if you were a player. Which I think is pretty cool, and also why I struggle getting back into RPG Games with old save files after taking a break for a month or two. Just so much complexity with character abilities that I forgot how to handle.
They'll be heading back to Baldur's Gate, then later Avernus and I plan to draw similar style of maps for different districts; featuring key locations, vendors, and distractions. So this has been an amazing learning opportunity to try something different.
