I mean, he maybe the only Septarian I can think of who might've gotten it worse than Toffee...in some ways, more than others. Still, look at him? What's not to like?

Well, I think it was more of a genetic lottery sort of thing (with folks like Toffee being the big winners, given how fast an potent his healing abilities were before he got 'Slimed'), as Rasticore did eventually heal a number of times from normally very fatal injuries (I mean, he did literally regrow himself from a single arm multiple times), it just often took a long time...eventually leading to his rather reduced looking appearance in the final season (which, depending whether or not his healing, like all Septarians, were enabled by magic, makes me wonder if he continued to 'grow back into his big boy body' (to use a term from the show ;3) or he was left in that rather stunted form once Magic was destroyed...
It is rather strange that his situation did not worsen after the first destruction-is that a credit to Heinus? Maybe it's not the favorable recovery that makes the Lizard cripple, not the injury itself? He is simply left to himself, completely helpless, has no resources and can do nothing but draw material from what he has, which leads to injuries.
