In terms of character development, Edgar has been going down this path that is resulting in him having this weird mix of archetypal gruff masculine male traits and archetypal 1950's housewife traits. This is weirdly amusing to me.

Also, they're black because I wanted to experiment with a certain type of color scheme I've seen around. While I like how the black looks, against the hot-colored background, it makes them look like demons in a cheesy sitcom that takes takes place in hell.
