It depends what we consider red. IR and UV are technically in optical range. There is a red range which can be seen by ours or some predator's eyes but it's filtered by sclera. Technically it's sub-IR . Same with UV, there is sub-UV which simply is filtered, it could be seen if not protective filter on our eye. The reason for filtering is protection and increase of acuity of vision in bright sunlight.
There is also some violet color which is semi-ignored by our eye because it is used for photometric ranging. It is related to scattered light in air.

The thing is our eyes aren't optimized to see red very properly. It actually encroaches onto the other colors to pick it up properly since we ARE pretty weak against it. It's not very easy to register so it doesn't affect night vision, compared to blues which are a huge amount of our visible range due to how important it is to see.
