This painting was a very relaxing break from all the stuff I currently work on.
rukis and I wanted to come up with something classical so we aimed for a pretty, voluptuous, narrative and sublime theme.
I was very inspired by classical paintings and wanted to try working with strong lights and shadows yet soft brush strokes.
I never believed I can make it today but even though I had/wanted to squish it in between my already stuffed timetable, I enjoyed this pretty lineart done by

Female shapes are wonderful things to swing your brush for. I made this in one day, so could you actually call this speed-fine-art? ;)
I will definitely try more techniques like this, which means, one layer, no more than three brushes. Yays.
For the ones who can have a peek at the MFF artshow, take a look at Rukis' corner. :D This piece will probably be hanging there, in need for a pretty home, framed with a pretty frame.
Thanks a lot for looking! <3
Edit: oh for god's sake I changed the title because people kept getting confused about the gender of the lionESS! She has boobz and female curves, don't you see it? *sees her palm moving towards her forehead really fast and she tries to avoid it yet it's impossible*
Thanks a bunch for the recognition, though!!!

Ever since I DISCOVERED layers I use them for everything... I suppose it is because I am super quick to erase, and am just messy in general, so layers help my horrible digital coloring technique look slightly decent. Anyway, this turned out lovely and I am super jealous of your painting abilities. PS girl parts are still icky
I wish to add:
Please.
Thank you!

Very nicely done, especially considering that you did it in such a short time frame, and I can understand your frustration with people not knowing whether or not a character is female or not, I tend to get that a lot, since my style is.. uh.. angular?
Though to be fair to those that had the problem, due to fairly dark shadowing as well as the angle, it IS easy to not see the breasts on first inspection, in which case the female form can be mistaken for a very very girly male. And some guys can pull girl off better than some women, so there's not a lot of shame in that mistake. ;)
Still a wonderful work though, and a very good job of managing to 'Hit the nail on the head' so to speak. It immediately brought classical works of art to mind for me.
