Poor guy is having guilt issues in spite of everyone wailing on Morty for his own actions of theft and pettiness. KNOW Morty would steal them? Then again, when our psyche talks back to us like that, it doubtful it's relies on logic, it's relying on emotion and how to justify that emotion. In this case, monstrous guilt.
