Hai! XD This is one of my rare personal pieces that I let sit in a folder for ages. I'm looking for ideas on how to colour this piece, since mine haven't been successful. Shooting for a "rainbow" theme, or something really colourful!
The lines are inked, and I can't change them on paper, but feel free to suggest changes I could make in the future!
This was inspired by the Lolipop Dell commercial. lol I was amused...

If you're going for a "rainbow" type color why not go for something prismatic? It'll be more difficult, but it'll also avoid that "overly cartoony" look?
Here's an example of what a prismatic scale might look like (from google):

It's a reflective material that reflects rainbows from white light.

I agree with Hael with the colours. Only on the dragon though, I think that would work. At least for me, I see just green with yellow underside, but something a bit more "unique" might work as well such as puprle with black/grey underside or blue with red underside.
I for one can't agree on anything. Would have to see the background first before attempting to colour the dragon. Something that would contrast the background would be best idea, so which ever route you plan on taking, I suggest looking into contrast before delving in.
Good luck!

The amount of detail makes it easy to get lost. I have a hard time making out where the boundaries are between the leg and the body, the arm and the wings, and what the shape of the end of the tail is.
The right mix of colours would add some depth and visual contrast. Warm vs. cool, saturated vs desaturated, etc.

I know what you mean. DX The lines upset me when I finished them, realizing it was good in theory but not after finished. lol That's why I feel a good colour combination would fix that error, and I think you are dead on about applying visual depth. I shall mock up a few things and see what you all think.
Thanks <3!
Thanks <3!
I like the look of it. Nice detail in the inking.... I'm orry but I can't offer any helpful hints, other than, to post more! :P Your art is great.
If you don't mind, I'd like to take a crack at colouring it, when I figure how GIMP 2 works, or install photoshop. ^^
Rainbow would suit this so well.
