That's what makes open-pit mining so great in Minecraft. Dig giant pit DOWN, leave unfenced and lol at everything that falls in and dies when they hit bottom. Works for me! :D

Whoops, ment shaft mining :P after dying several times spelunking (I hate skeletons) I decided to avoid it all together. You go through alot of pick axes, but it works like a charm!

But when you can make TNT....that's when things get fun! :v

My mines are completely secured behind me, lit up and sealed with doors, but I still find things as I expand into the caves. Last night I was mining out a vein of Iron Ore and as I picked away the last block it opened up to another cave, with a Creeper already standing right there looking at me through the one block wide hole with its fucking accusing face... Somehow it already knew...
I had killed it's whole family...
