2011 Woodland Park Zoo Calendar - Kijani's winning photo
The calendar just came out and was mailed to all 39,000 Zoo members this week, it turned out great!
On the inside, they included the photos of the other nine runners up which was nice, and they gave me a nice shout-out too:
"Last September, the zoo announced a photo contest... It was a hard-fought battle with hundreds of beautiful photos to go through. A panel of judges picked their top 10 choices then we let our nearly 19,000 Facebook Fans vote on their favorite. As you've already seen on the front, the winner by a roar was Tim Watanabe with his shot of lions Hubert and Kalisa shown during a tender moment."
This is the first photography award I've ever won - guess my long hours and obsession with this place has paid off :P

Thank you for those kind words my friend
Part of that talent comes from my love for lions though, I would not be able to put the time, effort, patience and concentration to photograph any other animal nearly as well.
And the zoo's lion exhibit is wonderful too, allowing visitors to get a variety of shots, and up close too.

Congratulations from Australia dude, that pic is truly amazing & surely better than the lion pics
chaosreign surely got at the zoo here in Sydney... those lions weren't too co-operative with photos.
On an unrelated matter, I will be noting you shortly. Congrats again!
