Escort the ships and feed the world.
Duncan is depicted here as Neptune bringing rough seas to the Russian battleships and smoothing the sea routes traveled by the international grain freighters doing their job to feed a hungry world.
By ceding control of the Black Sea to Russia we are allowing them to hold the world hostage from getting the produce out of Ukraine that is just sitting in silos where it will otherwise spoil. When I commissioned this I figured this scenario would happen sooner but now that the art is done, following a delay due to circumstances described below, the harvest is still held up in port. There are still questions over how to handle the escort since it requires de-mining ports and that puts port cities at risk of invasion. So it looks like it will take escorts and defense of the ports and now may end up being done by both the UK and Turkey. Get The Grain Out Of Ukraine!
The Ukrainian artist I chose for this awesome piece,
Nayra_Anderson left her Father and cat in her hometown of Kyiv to live first in Paris France, then to Northern Ireland to join her Mother who left first. When I helped her get to her Mom sooner little did either of us know that the two of them would be tossed around themselves like corks on the sea of Ireland's refugee system because of one crazy landlord who forced them out on the street over a minor disagreement and kept their money. Things have gotten better for them lately and they have come to love their adopted country but it shows how things may be safer but not necessarily easy after escaping this terrible war.
