One of the first in the series "150 followers, 150 pokémon" I'm doing on twitter. My starting point for this one was @IceKitsuneX's profile picture, which is... some sort of castle? How do I draw a Charmeleon with "some sort of castle"? I eventually went with the concept of a window. ...What do you mean the panes are wonky? If it's a world where castles exist, it has to be like that so it looks castle-y!

The implication here is, of course, that Charmeleon's trainer is in the castle and he's lonely.

I've honestly always been a little uncomfortable drawing characters from behind. It didn't help that the "from behind" reference pictures I could find from the anime were all of Charmander, not Charmeleon! It was only after I finished it that I remembered the game provides a "from behind" sprite for every pokémon. Oh well, live and learn
