Personality: Prideful, cunning, greedy. He desires nothing less than absolute control through fear of his power. He has temper problems he is striving to control, for his rage has ruined his plans numerous times. He understands the value of loyal followers, and works to build up his charisma.

Abilities:

Melody of Calamity: The ability to create and manipulate calamities in any way, shape, or form, limited solely by the user's willpower and imagination. Understanding of how calamities work decreases the strain on one's mental stamina as well as increase what one can do. New kinds of disasters may be Created through this power, though without understanding of the mechanics behind them it will lead to greater mental strain. No outside force may prevent or interfere directly with this power, as it is a reenactment of the Genesis of Calamities and Disasters from the dawn of time. The effects of the power may be mitigated as normal. Consequently, the user is utterly immune to the effects of their power, but only those.

He also possesses a strong affinity for magics and forces that can cause or manipulate calamities , but solely those.

Powered Armor: A high-tech suit of power armor obtained at great expense from the Kingdom of Greenland. The suit grants General Devastation immense protection from nearly anything short of the mightiest military grade gear, anything created by Mad or Super Science, and magic via multiple forcefields and environmental control systems. When all defensive functions are working it can allow him to fly at up to Mach 5 safely and stealthily. However, in turn it can only operate for a maximum of five hours with a full charge when being fully tested, and takes ten to charge up.

Clear Melody: As a Refrainer, General Devastation has a metaphysical advantage against Outer Beings and Outer Gods, as he bears a "clear melody" resonating in his soul, unlike them who have a discordant, incomplete melody in them.

Martial Artist: He is an experienced user of Mossad-tier Krav Maga, trained by a rogue operative of theirs in the art, and he continues to hone himself further.

Weaknesses: His most well known weakness, and one that he continues to have trouble overcoming, is his temper. His plans being interfered with, heroes quipping and otherwise taunting at him, and in general things not going his way drives him to the breaking point. Past that he looses any finesse his power demands and resorts to either more easily avoided or stopped acts, or just straight up CQC. He similarly has a need for drama and presentation, being a villain of the old school. Grand speeches, monologues, and so forth. Finally, he is mortal and will die as easily as any other.

Profile: William Steinsfluch was just another thug in a big city who upon surviving a dreadful storm and ensuing flood, awoke as a Refrainer, one who bears a part of the Music of Creation within his soul. Realizing his power, he took up the name Captain Calamity, and later in his career as a henchman became Major Disaster. Then came a fateful day when, at the tail end of a police operation that saw the rest of his supervillain crew arrested, his anger and hate got the better of him. Unleashing it all at once, he utterly sank the great coastal metropolis and its surrounding lands into the sea, only surviving because of the protections of his powers.

Awakening from the act, and realizing what he'd done, he sought refuge briefly with the legendary supervillain Storm Lord, only to be kicked out once the veteran villain revealed that Major Disaster had been declared an Enemy of the World by the United Nations, a threat designation granted only to the most reviled and dangerous supervillains on the planet. And so he went underground, dodging bounty hunters and heroes alike, slowly building a power base of his own among the desperate and those he could genuinely impress with his determination to go on in spite of events. As the decades passed, he eventually created the organization Armageddon, devoted to his conquest of the world.

His ultimate goal is to master his power sufficiently to perform a controlled eruption of the Ring of Fire in the Pacific, and threaten the world with a second Great Flood unless all sovereign nations submit to his will. However, this will require a clarity of thought and strength of will he does not currently possess, and he understands full well that power he cannot control is no power at all. As such, his greatest feat to date is to sink the island of Cyprus in a show of his might, with only the intervention of the of Champion of the Hellenes, Asterion, stopping him from sinking Crete as a follow-up test and display of power.

Presently he resides on an uncharted island in Southeast Asia, where upkeeps his organization via assorted criminal operations, studies Buddhist meditation to achieve his desired clarity of mind and mental stamina, and hide in an area where the U.N's power is weaker than normal.
