Lol, I'm not actually a Trekkie in any way, shape or form, but the situation just seemed really similar. I blame two of my friends who are into Trek... any knowledge I've got about it rubbed off of them (Trek by association?). One of them forced me to watch one of the later episodes (I think it was Deep Space Nine) where they went back in time to find the Tribble that had a bomb hidden in it, and I thought it was pretty brilliant.
