cries in his own worthlessness
How long does it usually take to create a masterpiece? Do you use references for all these clothing folds and patterns, items on the background, tableware and so on? Do you work on some sketches to compose stuff or just make some rough strokes with no clue how the background and surrounding items will look like? I get more questions the more I take a detailed look... :(
You do a great job on lights and shading, and it's inspiring to see how a few bright stokes settle the mood for the whole artwork - like glass and subtle matte ceramic effect you added on some previous images with two foxes and felines.
Seriously, your artworks deserve to be printed, framed and take their place on the wall. I don't like to use the word "talent", because it hides a huge amount of time one spends on learning, studying and trying over and over again. Thus I will say you're the Artist in the most professional and skillful sense.
Thank you for sharing it. It's indeed immensely inspiring not only just to enjoy your art, but to investigate brushstrokes and technique you put in.

Hi there! This is such a kind comment, I'm very glad you enjoy my work :¬)
Lets see if I can answer your questions:
- I would say a few weeks if I worked on it none stop but I do a few pictures at any one time. I won't constrain myself to time though, if more work is needed then thats fine.
- I'll use references where I need to, but I should ideally be using them for most parts of the picture. Like I don't reference cloth so much these days, but I really should.
- I'll do a few painted up versions before deciding on one direction. I tend to use a very limited pallette at the start and build from there. This one was pretty green at the beginning!
- All of the background/surrounding items do get sketched out and designed as the picture develops, but I'd start with a general idea in mind.
Aha yeah I feel the same about the word talent. I wouldn't like to tell anyone how much time I actually spend on art, I'm quite consumed by it and I love that!
Also as you mentioned prints, I will be opening a print shop in the very near future so maybe a few would like the pop them on their walls :¬).
Thank you!

Thank you for your reply.
For some reason I was sure you were using clothing references quite extensively, because you do a really nice job on folding and their shading.
There is a lot to learn from your works simply by observing details and thinking on how and why they were implemented exactly as we see them on a canvas.
You're doing really great, keep up and never stop!
