I may have said this in the past, but the webcomic Skiin Deep by Kory Bing is one of my favorites! I have a few OCs from that universe I have used in some games, and these are two of them.

Karl Richter is a draugr, a form of undead. He became this way after dying in the first battle of Ypres in the Great War. He was alone, unable to be in human society, and not very popular with the mythical society either. Then one day, he met a young bugbear named Elise Faucharde. Bugbears have an innate creepiness about them, and a fascination with other creepy things. They became friends in 1923. Then, in 1943, they led a motley group of humans and monsters to stop a group of SS from utilizing clay golems created from an ancient tome. During a celebration on VE Day, Elise had a one night stand with another bugbear. You can see that image here

When she realized she was pregnant, Elise decided she didn't want to bring a child into war ravaged Europe. She traveled to New York City with Karl, using the Richter family money that was given to Elise to buy a home on 5th Avenue. While Elise went to culinary school and opened a restaraunt in one of the NYC Avalons, Karl became the defacto dad to her son Louis. The baby bugbear became the driving force in Karl's existence. Louis may be Elise's baby, but he was definitely Karl's son.

This is the sight that greeted Elise when she came home one night from the Avalon. For the record, Karl doesn't sleep. He does retreat into his memory palace to find moments of peace when he needs them. Baby Louis found a comfy spot on his dad's lap, and quickly passed out himself. You just know that Elise had no trouble getting her camera to capture this moment forever.
