While I will agree that Faint's work is very lovely (and in fact I have a watch on his account even... ) I don't appreciate you making comments advertising other artists on my submissions. Next time I would appreciate it if you would note your comments or perhaps shout them directly to the user rather than try to demean my business on my own art page.

I was merely making a suggestion. I don't yell at you for advertising on the main page and just about everywhere else I go on FA depending on the ad that comes up. I wouldn't have actually even found you or knew where to begin looking if it wasn't for your ad. I'm not demeaning your business, simply giving people an option to save money, or to see more per dollar. As you may see I haven't at all flaunted any personal art, I haven't called your pieces out on anything, and I really haven't done anything wrong.

It's true you did nothing in the wrong per se, but something inside me is just begging to say you're damn rude for doing as such before. I know you were only making a "suggestion", but PLEASE for the sake of others be more considerate than that. Not cool.

Each artist is great in their own respective way, don't compare them.

My good man, it appears to me that you're missing the point. Allow me to elaborate.
As a first order of business, let's consider this statement:

There is a crucial difference between paying for an advertising slot on FA's webpage and promoting other artists through comments on another artist's work. That being, the former does not directly target one artist's commissioner base, the latter does and is otherwise rude and obnoxious, and to suggest that paying for ad space is wrong in some way is, quite frankly, utterly retarded of you. I wouldn't go into the comments on a piece done by Faint and suggest to his commissioner that he or she take their business to Hoshi for their next commission. Nor would I, or any other polite members of this site, venture into the comments of any other artists' works and suggest that a commissioner go elsewhere to buy commissions.

Additionally, you then make the argument that saying this "gives people an option to save money, or to see more per dollar," but it seems you forget that art is largely a subjective thing, and peoples' personal preference makes it very difficult to place a value on an artist's work.



Now then, as I'm sure you've declared tl;dr by now and my words are wasted on you, I'll summarize and close with this:

You're being a jackass, and I would wager everyone here would appreciate it if you'd cut it out. If someone wants to commission Faint, they'll go to Faint's page and talk to him about it. If you think Faint isn't getting enough coverage, you might consider suggesting to Faint instead that he buy a few ads on the site, or make himself more known in other ways. It is inappropriate and rude in any and all cases to comment on one artist's work that a commissioner should commission another artist instead, regardless of the reasoning behind it.
