The following file is a short description of the glamourous National Heroine of Italy, Italia. This beauty from the southern Italian city of Naples can be very shocking when it comes to fighting supervillains.
A picture of the Italian vixen will appear soon.

A wonderful bit of character sketch, I do so wish that authors in general would put this much thought and research into character design and development. However, there is a break-over point. This much "data" gives a fine history, but as to examples of who she is, and what she does (on both sides of her life) her basic character might have been better illustrated by a short story that weaves in all the history. As it is, given the propensity of most furry "role players" (are there any left, besides present company?) will see the vixen, the title, and the "superhero", and the rest will fly right outta the window.
I have no particular impulse to grab a dice bag and start playing her, simply put, because I don't know enough about her to know what she might, or might not do in any situation. I do know her past, and her training, but to be brutally honest, how many furry role players (Besides me) are going to have a real good "grip" on the kind of work day world and mindset one gets from working for Italian Military Intelligence? (Did NATO take a walk, or something, by the way?) So, it's interesting over all, but I think she could use a bit more of a personal touch. I wince at using this word, but she needs more humanizing.

Ahem, this character sketch, which I have been working on for several months, by the way, is to give the folks who are in an furry rp that I run on yahoo, some background and history on the character, who, by the way, I'd been playing for over a year now. Nothing more, nothing less. Those who are participating at the rp already know what she's like.
To be quite frank, anyone who needs to know is more than likely going to be asking me for more information on her, and that will more than likely be those who are involved in the furry rp group that I'd mentioned I'm running on yahoo. I'd doubt anyone else will be asking.
As for doing character design, etc., I'd been doing this since the 90s as a member of a apazine called the Dallas Brawl.

Yes, I remember the Brawl, and a lot of other 'zine type thingies that went on before Furries in general turned computers and the Net into a non-stop excuse for lube deliveries.
As to the character and the role players "playing her, I'm willing to bet you a box of stale canolis from the Jersey Shore that not one of them (with the possible exception of yourself) knows enough from a story or social standpoint to know how a "Contessa" should be treated in a high, or low-society situation (This has to be germane to make her "cover" work) You gave her a Title, and I'll bet that a majority of your players think that "Contessa" is a sword welding character from a Stephen Lisburger film (and If I have to mention which one, TRON it ain't) This is what I mean about half of her background being lost on players, because to be flat out blunt about it, most of them lack the knowledge or social polish in themselves to interact with her "in character" as her station might befit, in a game situation.
I don't mean to sound snob, but as someone who grew up in Europe, I can tell you that we get this sort of social education by almost by osmosis, while most Americans do not. That is a small but very key aspect of how she ought to be seen by those around her above a certain social station that would be a part of her life, socially speaking.
So while it works on paper, I'd like to see how it works with people other than you "handling" her. She's still an interesting character, but one I would rather read about than "role-play" with unless I knew the other players had enough "know-how" to play "up" to the character.

Let get one thing straight from the start. I am a member of the American middle class, whose ancestors were brought in to the present US via a slave ship from Africa. Yes, I am African-American. I just don't go around announcing it, since I don't think it's anyone's business who my ansector(s) is (are), unless they ask me. (Oh, according to my father, I am also part Cherokee Indian, although I will be the first to admit that I am not sure if that is true or not, although I do know that one set of my relatives are part-Native American.) My education includes three degrees, two of which were in history, with the second one being a master's degree in Early Modern European History, from the Battle of Rocroi, in 1641, when the French defeated the Spanish during the Thirty Years War, and ends in 1789, with the start of the French Revolution. And I think you know what the French Revolution did to Europe in general before the defeat of Napoleon in 1815, especially those who were members of the Aristocracy. (Hello, Madame le Guillotine.) The colleges I'd declare as my alma mater are Penn State, Ohio University and Drexel University, none of which would be considered a member of the Ivy League or their Little Sister schools.
I just happpen to do a lot of research to get a feel for the period before I write up anything set in it. In fact, I am right now reading several books on Charlemagne, since a story that I plan to do in the near future will be set around that time period, and I want to make sure that that the part of the story will be as historically accurate as I can possibly make it. In fact, back in the late 90s/early 00s, I wrote three stories set during Ancient times, after doing a lot of research. (I hope to get back to that story some day.)
As for those I am rping with, we actuall talked about this very subject, also last year, with it being suggested that when trying to create a character who comes from another land to first do some research on the character's homeland before throwing him or her into the rp. And I am sure that they have done so, and will do so before any of them use my characters in any stories that they might use her in, with my permission, and with my imput on how to use her to make sure that she is being protrayed correctly.
I therefore feel insulted by your 'snobbery', as you seem to think that I should not allow someone else to use MY CHARACTER, because you believe that those who I am rping with will not have the proper social background to play her right. Listen, the key words here is that she is MY CHARACTER, and I will let anyone who wants to play with her do so, since I am sure that they will use her correctly, whether they ask for my input, or not.
As for the rp itself, I'm the one playing her, period. And to be honest, I'm still learning how to play her, so there are bound to be mistakes. But, with that said, I'm playing her. Nuff said!

Barry Ween
Barry is ten years old and by far the smartest organism on the planet. No explanation is ever provided for his vast intellect, although the first issue begins with Barry stating that "I was smart even before birth, and I'm not talking a little smart. I mean way smart, like, self-awareness-in-the-womb-smart." He is an extremely prolific inventor and has built an immense secret lair underneath his suburban home full of robots, futuristic transports, and weapons. Due to his knowledge of the workings of the human body, he is exceptionally skilled at hand-to-hand combat. Despite his genius, however, Barry is prone to making errors in his experiments that can lead to near-catastrophic consequences, like turning his aunt into an enormous deformed blob, knocking the Earth out of the sun's orbit, or accidentally creating an inter-dimensional rift in his basement. He copes with his unusual lifestyle by adopting a sardonic sense of humor and a thinly veiled contempt for most of his schoolmates. Despite the great power that his intelligence grants him, he admits later in the series that his superior mind is a kind of curse: he can't stop thinking, calculating probabilities, and formulating plans; so he never sleeps. In fact, he attends school because he believes social interaction will slow his descent into madness.

oop sorry worge quote
Before his infection, Alex Mercer experienced a brutal childhood in poverty: his first nine years were spent in foster care. When he turned 10, he was finally returned to his mom, who spent the last nine years in prison, but for Alex it was better to be in foster care. However, his intellect and aptitude in science provided him an opportunity to leave behind his troubled past. He trusted no one, had no friends, couldn't care less what others thought of him, and found solace only in his work. By the time he was hired by Gentek, Alex was a borderline sociopath.
After earning a doctorate in genetics at Columbia University, Mercer was hired by Gentek and became the head of the Blacklight project at Gentek. Alex's team was concerned with engineering weaponized viruses from samples given to them by the government. The samples provided exhibited curious behavior, including mimicry and retention of genetic information from infected hosts. With Alex’s help, the team soon engineered a particularly virulent and potent virus codenamed "BLACKLIGHT." Alex’s skill in altering genes made him a valuable asset to GENTEK; his work was years ahead of his nearest competitor.
Despite his successes, Alex Mercer was considered a potential liability by Blackwatch, an elite army created to combat exotic threats. Over time, GENTEK became scrutinized by Congress and investigations were proposed. Fearing an information leak, Blackwatch decided to cover it all up. Alex, due to his paranoid nature, began to launch his own secret investigation on GENTEK. Using the assistance of Dana, an investigative reporter and his sister, Alex realized that GENTEK employees associated with BLACKLIGHT were silenced by Blackwatch.
When he learned that a general purge was about to be unleashed upon the GENTEK scientists, Alex attempted to flee. In the event he was caught, Alex brought insurance—he smuggled a vial of BLACKLIGHT virus, and mailed a laptop with classified documents to his sister. But BLACKWATCH was too quick for him. While attempting to escape the city by train, Alex was caught in Penn Station. In vengeance, he smashed the vial with the Blacklight virus on the floor, starting the biological apocalypse. He was promptly shot by plainclothes Blackwatch operatives.
Moments later, his corpse was absorbed by the BLACKLIGHT virus, imbuing him with a monstrous power.
