Aqua hugging pro tip!: It's best to hug Shenanigans when he has his hands free of cudgel like objects! Juggling both seems to confuse him and make him accidentally drop them repeatedly on my head until I let go!

Nonsense, just the other day he was rubbing all over it. Or maybe it was more like a deep tissue massage, cause he was using his fists and was pressing down so hard you could have sworn he was really just punching me, chanting some relaxing mantra that went like "Ihateyouuu Stoptouchingmeeeee". Oh yeah! You're right. Unfortunately I never really pay attention to height. Most of the time I just base height relatively between characters, and I must have been too focused on getting that ass in the air hug pose to realize I made myself taller than Shen. He's much taller than me IRL apparently so if I had realized I probably would have adjusted it.
