Heaving a breath as they wiped a bit of sweat off their brow from the balmy weather and a lot of walking around today, Senna grasped at the strap of their gathering pack that rested on their shoulder past the stump of their missing right arm and gave it a quick adjustment so it wouldn’t fall off. They’d spent the better part of the morning into the early afternoon wandering about in the tangerine field a good distance outside of their home, gathering up the fruits of their labor both literally and figuratively in honor of what turned out to be a great harvest season. The pack weighed heavy on their back with what was surely about a bushel’s worth of tangerines, plucked fresh from the trees with even some of the leaves and flowers still attached. But that was more than fine as far as the witch was concerned, such small parts that might be otherwise simply picked off and tossed out as waste actually still had some good uses… One just had to be creative, and maybe know a thing or two about alchemy and tea-making.
Standing beneath the shade cast by the citrus trees lining either side of the path for a short reprieve from the heat of the afternoon sun beating down on them, Senna reaches out to pluck another tangerine hanging from a nearby outlying branch that loomed closest to them. Perhaps a few more wouldn’t hurt before they’d have enough to call it good for the day, there’d be plenty left to harvest if they'd need any more before the season’s end, after all…
A wonderfully done YCH piece done of my weird, witch-druid forest creature known as Senna! And the first piece done featuring the redesigned version of them! I figured it was about time Senna finally gets some dedicated art of their own, and when my friend posted up this YCH I knew it would be the perfect opportunity! The details in this piece are amazing, from the tangerines and all the leaves and flowers to the background and lighting! The artist has really improved a lot with their background and detail work as of recently, and it definitely shows~ <33

Indeed! Gatewayeee always does a great job, but they've definitely been improving on their art skills and taking things a level above as of late, which is always so great to see!

Mmmmm, a very interesting question! I think what I like the most about this piece is just the atmosphere and the vibes of it! Like it almost seems like you can really feel the warmth from the sun beating down, the coolness from the breeze and standing in the shade underneath the trees… And there’s a sense of calm and peace there too, imagining Senna strolling through the fields and plucking tangerines from the branches, maybe even trying a few of them herself in between to test how delicious they are. It just really feels like a comforting piece to me, and that’s what I really like the most about artwork like this!
