Backward bending legs? They're called feet. Those are their heels. Their knees are just up in their fluff, often times very close to their body and indistinguishable.

Will do. And yeah, pretty much all animals, being avian, reptile or mammal, all have pretty much the same basic bone structure, just proportioned differently.
