It's a hot summer this year and to cool off one needs to take every opportunity they can. Going to the beach to dip in the relatively cold water, taking a bath, hiding in the shade, or getting up close and personal with the huge paw of your ice dragon friend who could also use some scrubbing. And it's always a fun time to wash a big friend thoroughly! See their happy, relaxed faces as they get a little micro service. The nice feeling of smooth skin, scales or fur left beneath your handy work. It may be hard work sometimes, but the reward is wonderful.
Featuring the big blue Azulu
being washed, the tiny well dressed woof, Alex
polishing the claw, and yours truly, Kayden
in a few instances, scrubbing those scales to make them sparkle!
It's been six months since I last drew anything at all. Have tried getting back into it a few times over, but something inside always stopped me from actually getting started on anything. Azulu was sketching about today on VC and I got the urge to scribble something myself again, and that ended up being this little colored sketch. It was nice putting something on the canvas again. Not sure still if I can just get back into the same drawing spirit as I used to. A lot has happened, predominantly sad, unpleasant and stressful, but I enjoyed drawing this piece. Alex and Azulu were there as it took shape, and it was a very simple thing, very tiny scale. I usually draw a base sketch at a low resolution, then upscale it for finer detail or line work if it was clean enough in the first place, but this kind of sketchy drawing doesn't require any extra work of that kind. I just throw the lines on the screen, get the shapes I want out, and relax with a half decent final result. No worries about making it cleaner, shading, up scaling. Just pure sketching, relaxed artwork, friends on voice. I enjoy drawing with an audience of friends~
