Where I live we have pine forests with lots of ferns, magnolia, and sassifrass. The soil is rich in sand and red clay. I find in interesting how well this color patten works with that habitat which is not that dissimilar to the kind of environment this creature was supposed to live in. This is a very plausible reconstruction.
