Ha'aowk are bold creatures. They understood their world was a dangerous one but on the whole they were confident in their speed and agility. Most of the predators were large, slow, and dependant on ambush. When Ka'ahkai ventured below the canopies, the unfamiliarity of the darkness once the sunlight began to fade did not daunt her. Relying on her keen hearing, her tufted ears swivelling to and fro as she descended cautiously from branch to branch. An hour later, the darkness began to lighten as a blue glow suffused the air, Ka'ahkai's light-sensitive eyes instantly catching the change. Leaning over the edge of the branch she stood on, the Ha'aow's green eyes widened in shock as she saw the bioluminescent splendor that awaited her further down.
