I always liked that flag of Japan better than the present-day flag, even though both symbolise the same thing. It is probably because this one looks more like a sun, as opposed to a large red dot. ^.^; Thank goodness the Land of the Rising Fur gave us wonderful artists like yourself, as well as Karabiner, Dr. Comet, and even Stan Sakai (despite the fact that he was raised in Hawaii, but born in Kyoto.) Here's to the great furry artists of Nippon!

this "octopus" design is for Japanese military, whereas "meatball" design being THE national flag of Japan, so they have been co-existed since late 19th century.
