It's not really a belly button, but a scar. When he was a kid, he ate a bee and it stung him inside his stomach (He didn't know he was allergic to bee stings), so they had to operate on him.

And there you go.

I knew it. Through metamorphosis, Kuiper obtained his scarf! It is now permanently a part of his body. At least he's being resourceful by chopping off his own tail and using it as a nice neck accessory! =w=
