Popcorn? Check. Chips? Check. A disgusting amount of sodas, candies, and sweet fruit-flavored bottled alcohol beverages? Check, check, and check! Rosamund gave an affirmative nod and a hum at their good-sized stash of movie snacks for the night, gathering everything in her arms to bring over into the other room where Kira awaited her.

It had been a pretty eventful day for the both of them, having just come back from the cabaret club after Kira’s performance earlier in the night that Rosa had planned… nigh insisted on going to see to support and cheer on her best friend (and major crush) from the crowds. And needless to say, it had been quite the fantastic show. Watching the lynx jauntily prance and canter about on stage while singing her heart out to the audience and encouraging them to join in was always so much fun and an absolute wonder to watch… The wolverine had always made it a strict point to attend at the club whenever Kira was scheduled to perform on stage, having never once missed a single show so far no matter how minor or major it was. No matter how busy Rosa’s agenda might be on a regular basis, she’d always set aside time to go watch and cheer on her friend even if she had to move other things she’d planned around to do so.

As exciting as tonight’s show in particular had been, Kira had been more than ready to just head home to just relax and decompress for the rest of the night afterwards. And frankly Rosa couldn’t blame her, on top of the performance itself, dealing with the many fans running up to her, wanting to take pictures with her and such afterwards really took a lot. Hell, it would likely make just about anyone feel physically and socially exhausted afterwards... It was certainly no surprise that ever since the lynx had stepped up to become one of their star performers, the club had seen a pretty sizable uptick in popularity and in attendance as pictures and videos of shows featuring Kira posted online drew in more people to come and watch her live.

And while the half demon was glad to stay and hang out for a bit with some of her groupies (with her much taller, stronger friend pointedly hovering nearby to discourage any ‘funny business’), even she could only tolerate so much socializing in a single sitting. So as soon as the crowds had finally broken up and there was an opening for them to leave, Rosa had wasted no time swooping in and whisking her friend away to the back parking lot and into the relative safety of their car.

On the way back home the two had fallen into a bit of casual conversation, which eventually lead to Rosa suggesting that they watch a movie tonight to take off the day’s stress and spend some good ol’ quality time together. Which naturally led them to now, with the both of them dressed down to just their underwear and getting things prepped for a night of relaxation and enjoyment. It had become something of a regular tradition between the two of them over the past several months or so... For one night every weekend, the two of them would pick a movie to watch when they both arrived back home and they’d settle in, grab some snacks and drinks, cuddle together on the couch, and just chill for the remainder of the evening. They’d each take turns deciding on what film to put on, and on this particular weekend it happened to be Kira’s turn to choose.

“Snacks have been acquired!” the wolverine announced with a laugh, padding into their shared living room with all of their snacks and drinks loaded into her arms, “Whaddya think, Kätzchen? Anything sounding good to ya at all so far?”

The lynx perked up from where she sat on the couch upon hearing her friend arrive, remote clutched in one hand as she gestured towards the flatscreen TV across the room and the movie she’d apparently chosen displayed on-screen.

“How about Princess Bride?” she asked as she tilted her head curiously towards the wolverine, an almost sly-looking grin on her face.

“Again?” Rosa asked with a laugh, no bite of exasperation or sarcasm in her tone as she deposited the payload of edibles on the coffee table and loosely arranged them so they’d be within easy reach, “I swear we watched that one like a month ago, and at least two other separate times before that. Are ya sure about doing one that we’ve already seen?”

“Hey, we didn’t set any movie night ‘rules’ saying we couldn’t do repeats, right?” Kira playfully retorted back, sticking her tongue out with a teasing wink, “Besides, I’m feeling pretty drained tonight. Kinda just wanna put on a fun, classic flick so I can turn my brain off for a while and enjoy it, you know?”

The wolverine simply nodded and chuckled, more than happy to roll along with her friend’s choice even if it was one they'd already seen before. The Princess Bride was one of their sort of go-to ‘comfort movies’, so to speak. A film they could put on to watch and just enjoy without needing to think too much and have a nice, fun time with it. Also was a nice bonus that it’s a damn good movie that they couldn’t get tired of no matter how many times they watched it, and they knew every classic scene and line more or less by heart at this point.

“Ja, ja, sure, that’s all well and good with me. Princess Bride it is, then!” Rosa agreed casually, gesturing for Kira to stand up so she could lay down on the couch which the lynx gladly obliged. Resting her back against the soft pink cushion behind her and making herself comfortable, before patting her legs invitingly with a grin, “All yours when you’re ready, Kätzchen!”

The lynx, of course, didn’t have to be told twice as she took the incentive to flop belly down onto her friend, the wolverine grunting somewhat from the impact but otherwise unbothered due to her muscular frame and thick fur. Their bodies pressed flush against each other, Kira shifted herself a bit to find a comfortable enough position and rested her head against Rosa’s chest, just relishing in the shared warmth between them while her friend took a moment to fumble with the remote and press ‘Play’ to get the movie going.

As the Princess Bride played on the flatscreen across the way, Rosa left the remote on the table where she could easily reach it. Reclining back against the soft pink cushion against the couch arm behind her and making herself nice and cozy, the wolverine rested one hand on the lynx’s arm and draped the other loosely across her back in a sort of pseudo-hug as they snuggled together and watched on. Occasionally the wolverine would reach out to grab a handful of popcorn, candy, or chips, letting Kira take her share from her hand first before eating the rest, and she’d crack open drinks and distribute them as well when asked.

At some point, Rosa’s other hand resting on her partner’s back idly migrated its way up and started gently rubbing Kira’s ear between her fingers, a fond smile crossing the wolverine’s face as the lynx immediately began purring up a storm at the affectionate gesture. Purple eyes fell into a content looking half-lidded expression, the half demon leaning her head ever-so-slightly into the tender touch as they continued to watch.

Kira absolutely loved being able to spend the night like this… Just the two of them together, cuddled up close, enjoying a good movie, good snacks, and each other’s company, just having a nice time and not having to think much about the events and stress of the day or anything else. They’d exchange a bit of casual banter about the plot and the actors in it as the film played on, even giggling at particular lines and scenes despite already knowing what was going to happen and reciting some of their favorite bits of dialogue back and forth at certain parts.

At some point about an hour in, the lynx couldn’t help but start feeling a little drowsy… The toll on her energy the day’s events had taken was finally starting to catch up with her, combined with the white noise of the movie in the background and the warmth of her and Rosa’s shared body heat as they lay closely and comfortably together. And though Kira wouldn’t say it aloud, Rosa’s soft, fluffy chest admittedly made for a really nice pillow… She hummed softly under her breath as she curled her body in on itself a little and snuggled up closely against the wolverine underneath her, trying her best to keep her eyelids open as they seemed to grow increasingly heavier with each passing second.

“Mmmmm… Hey, Ro?”

“Ja, Kätzchen?”

“If I fall asleep, could you please take me to bed after the movie’s over?” the lynx asked, stifling a yawn and blinked her eyes a few times to try and stay awake for a little longer, “Just… feeling a little more tired than I thought, I guess.”

The wolverine simply nodded as she briefly glanced down towards her sleepy-looking friend out of the corner of her eye, leaving off stroking the cat’s ear in favor of tenderly massaging in lazy, calming circles along her back. “As you wish,” she answered with a soft chuffing laugh, playfully reciting the character Westley’s usual response whenever Buttercup asked something of him, “But I’d like to request that you make dinner tomorrow night as payback, heh...”

“Mhmmm… Sure, will do…” came the bleary-sounding response, the half demon’s faint purrs continuing like an engine left running on idle as her back arched instinctively and eased into Rosa’s gentle caress. Of course the soothing motions combined with the comforting closeness only served to further exacerbate her growing tiredness, though Kira hardly minded in the least as she let her eyes finally slide closed.

Rosa, still plenty wide awake, gave an amused grin and a quiet snicker upon hearing the familiar sounds of soft, even, and somewhat loud breathing only ten minutes later, the weight resting against her feeling just a touch heavier now. Heh, guess Kira really was tired tonight, she’d just gone and completely passed out if those signs were anything to go by… Ah well, they’d already seen this movie enough times anyways, she wouldn’t mind missing out on the ending at least once.

Pulling her arms in closer and wrapping them around the snoozing lynx almost protectively like a sort of improvised blanket, Rosa’s contented smile never once faded as she kept watching up until the end.

Yet again, a wonderfully done art piece of my two girls Rosa and Kira being wholesome and domestic, sharing some nice, comforting cuddles while they spend the night watching a good movie together! You know, as all friends do, hehe~ ;3 I absolutely love the vibe of this piece, how warm and cozy it feels with the lighting, shading, and textures! And not to mention all of the colors and cute little details like Rosa's hand stroking Kira's ear... There's even a nice little callback reference to a previous artwork the artist did of one of these characters as well if you can spot it! ^^
