Hmm. That'll be tricky as (1) I don't use reason, I use FL/Cubase/Reaper (Now) and (2) the person I know who uses reason regularly is on strike against helping something that might sound like dubstep. XD

I would say challenge yourself to make a purely percussion (at least driven) track with drums that you're really satisfied with it. Don't be afraid to become overly complex with it, adding extra layers and whatnot. You'll get better at refining as you go.

Or, you could take the standard techno approach and figure out how to EQ things ideally. I can't help you there tho, I'm terrible at that kind of thing. XD Might have to talk to GrapeFruit on that one.

Another thing I'm ashamed to say is my CPU is on its way out so the amount of tracks I have I use for bass and whatnot

You can get around that tho, I have to do the same with projects heavy in sample libraries in FL. You can export a copy of the synth you're working on and put that file in another project so it doesn't have to load it and then work around that. It's a bit more work, but tends to be worth it in the end.
