"Death is but a cycle! Only a fool would fear oblivion!" -Xia Fleshpaw
Death is a natural part of the circle of life. This is common knowledge to all. However, when putrid magic of necromancy corrupt the natural balance of things, one can speculate disaster or great harm will be ushered forth. It's often said that what is dead should remain so, and when discussing the Direwind, the phrase could not be more true, for the Direwind represent the unnatural and chaos-driven side of the cycle of death, rising time and time again with no end. To spread across the world like an infection- to rot the very core and soul of Norrath.
Nerek Gashclaw, despite being a largely unhinged pyromaniac, knew he could not win through brute force alone. Or, perhaps he could, but the time of his ultimate victory would be delayed significantly. Upon creating The Disciples of the Burning Paw, led by his apprentice Seartooth, Nerek Gashclaw got the idea to send various 'splinter forces' across Norrath, hitting multiple places at once so any mortal resistance in one area would be overturned by a Direwind victory in another. What better way to break morale and spirits than to destroy the mighty tree of Kelethin, home of the wood elves? A very symbol of druidism and life itself? Many individuals of the Direwind were eager to volunteer to be sent, but none perhaps more so than the unhinged and unholy fervor that is Xia Fleshpaw.
Little is known about Xia's background before she became apart of the Direwind clan, but it's highly speculated she joined willingly. To her, tormented screams and bloody agony are her hallmarks and she takes great joy in spreading pain wherever she treads. Though her recklessness has caused her to be slain many, many times...the Direwind's magic simply brings her back to full once more, ready to charge into the fight once again. Truly, she does not fear death, nor any sort of oblivion for that matter. Her willingness to fight and die for Nerek has truly caught his eye, and it was only natural that her and her unhinged mindset go along to Faydwer with Seartooth to bring about an end to the elven tree home of Kelethin.
Despite her recklessness often being compared to that of Gringa, it's folly to assume Xia Fleshpaw is entirely some 'mindless, blood-hungry' beast of some sort. Indeed, despite her desire to cause mayhem and death, Xia can be a brilliant thinker. On rare occasions, that is. What truly makes her dangerous however are her weapons. Though unassuming at a first glance, her bone-crafted daggers posses the ability to draw and leech one's essence from their bodies, draining their very vitality and fueling Xia to continue fighting. In long-winded fights or in a massive battlefield-scale war, Xia, if left unchecked, can become a very deadly opponent. And to her, no blood is sweeter than that of elves.
