"And after that, I had the most delicious fondue I've ever had! Being trapped by cultists might have blown, but something about still being able to taste what your possessed body was eating was still pretty sweet; not that they could ever come close to my palette, but I know good food, and I didn't even have to pay for it since they were just using my body as a decoy in their little robbery behind the scenes."
Frank smiled, lifting his weights as his little wolf clabbered on about his experiences while the two of them were separated.
"I will say though, they definitely didn't have drip though." Kyle continued. "I'm glad my face and head were usually covered. Aside from being at fancy places, I fear I couldn't live with myself if anyone I knew saw my body wearing the rags that they called casual clothes! The robes were dumb enough, but at least I only had one when I was behind doors. I specifically remember this one time they had me wearing a red and yellow striped shirt with blue pants with pink polka-dots, and a backwards cap! I should have been arrested by both the fashion police and the knights!"
Funny how when he was younger, this kind of rambling from the wolf would have driven Frank completely out of his mind, but now he couldn't help but chuckle and enjoy the wolf's silly chattering of whatever "adventures" those cultists put him through.
Of course, as happy as he was, he also was furious at the people who had kidnapped Kyle after he had fallen.
Frank had searched the ravine the young Kyle fell down time and time again, but never found him, and it was all because some nutcases saw a vessel they could play around with.
Twenty-one years, Frank had to live with the guilt of not being able to save the little wolf that was his admirer when he was a young knight. At 16, he was an arrogant and low-tolerant knight, and having a 6-year-old, overly excited and affectionate wolf eager to follow you everywhere didn't really do the best for his mood.
Kyle was so loving and happy, and just seeing this innocent wolf fall to his death really did a number on him. As much as Kyle annoyed Young Frank, the knight would have never wanted something like that to happen to him.
Life just wasn't the same afterwards; not having the excited wolf pup shouting his name and attempting to hug him at almost any opportunity he had every day. Patrolling the streets, knowing that no longer would there be an admirer excited to give him whatever flower he had gotten at the flower shop.
He felt emptier. Whether it annoyed him or not, Kyle was just such a normal part of his life, that Frank felt a little dead on the inside with him now gone.
Prince Emile was born a little while after all this happened, so Frank's resolve of losing Kyle went towards protecting the new prince, who was also a wolf. Frank didn't want to lose another wolf and dedicated all of his energy and time to becoming the best knight he could, eventually earning him the spot of Emile's personal knight.
But back to Kyle.
The two of them now shared a home. Though it cost an arm and a leg, Frank had more than enough to make his home into a place for both him and Kyle (of course he managed to get a discount from the agent since it was one of his friends).
Kyle had absolutely no resentment towards Frank despite how poorly he treated the wolf when he was younger. Not that he really did anything bad, but again, teenage knight and hyperactive friendly wolf child. If anything, Frank had to stop Kyle from running around in excitement when the wolf woke up and saw him.
"And I wanted to tell that stupid frog that my steak should be medium well! I may be a wolf, but my meat should only have the slightest bit of pink to it, not red! Just because you control my body, doesn't meant I shouldn't have a say in what it eats! I might not be much of a complainer, but I will unleash my inner Karen on you dumb cultists!"
Frank let out a dreamy sigh as the wolf continued.
It was hard to believe that this was the same wolf that he found a couple weeks ago on the brink of death. That this wolf had endured years of torment (whether Kyle thought some of it was silly or not) and was thrown away and left to die once those monsters were done with him.
Though Kyle was more refined (to some extent), he really hadn't changed much since Frank had lost him, and the eagle was more than ready to spend the rest of his life cherishing the silly little wolf.
Though he wished he could have saved Kyle when he was younger, he also knew that if he did, he probably wouldn't experience the overwhelming happiness he is now.
Though the time for those thoughts were over.
Not only was his wolf back, but also his confidence. Retired or not, Frank was ready to do his best, and was going to make up every second he lost.

Yeah, going to honest, originally, I was thinking of getting another picture of Wolfgang and Apollo, but there really isn't too much of these two, so I wanted to get another one with them (also shirtless bara Frank~).
